Hi!
I'm Molly Estes, a native American Sign Language (ASL) user,
who works at Ohio School for the Deaf as an ASL Specialist.
I am working with ASL teachers, teaching/tutoring ASL to OSD
staff/faculty and students, and teaching students about Deaf
Culture and History, ASL grammatical features, and ASL storytelling/activities.
I plan to develop ASL skills evaluation for all OSD students.
The ASL teachers and I are working on developing ASL curriculum
for students in kindergarden through twelfth graade. I also
am a Sign Communication Proficiency Interview (SCPI) Coordinator.
The SCPI team and I evaluate candidates' signing skills. I
am originally from Colorado. I graduated from Colorado School
for the Deaf and the Blind and Gallaudet University in Washington,
D.C. My parents and sisters are deaf and so is my husband,
Bill. We have two hearing sons who are 12 and 9 years old,
who have two languages: spoken English and ASL. Anyway, the
ASL Web Based Preschool team and I are developing the ASL
Curriculum on the Web with concepts of ASL and Deaf Culture.
I videotaped the two signers and edited the videotapes. I
hope you enjoy this preschool ASL Web site.
